Malappuram Government College, now located at Munduparamba was started in the year 1972 with only Humanities and Commerce pre degree batches at Kottappadi. The college which is affiliated to the Calicut University, got its recognition due to the devotion and contribution of C.H Mohammed Koya, the former Education minister of Kerala. At present the college has sixteen departments and 80 staffs with more than 2000 students studying different courses. It is one of the best colleges in Malappuram district as it has been continuously producing nice results.

- A wide campus that’s around 5 hectares of land enclosed within a compound wall.
- A three storied main block and two storied science block.
