PKMMHSS (PoozhikkalKunchi Mohammed Haji Memmorial Higher Secondary School) is one of the most reputed schools in Malappuram district.The school which is situated in the village of Areekal, has gained much fame to Edarikode.
It was started in 1979 with 102 students and it has grown upto almost 3000 students, 100 tutors and six other staffs in the high school section, out of which 66 divisions are English medium. The higher secondary section was started in the year 2000 with six divisions, 355 students, 18 teachers.
The higher secondary is now the best school in the district.The higher secondary section continues to achieve 100 percentage victory every year and has made tremendous contributions in the co-curricular activities.The school has gained overall championship 6 times in the district school fests, under Poozhikkal Mohammed Basheer, the Manager, and Mohammed Shafi, the Principal of the school.
